West Coast University, a private university with the singular focus of educating health care professionals, is currently seeking International Education Specialist for our University Administration office in Irvine, CA. It is a great role for someone that likes to travel! Reporting directly to the University Director, International Education is responsible for the implementation of both in-bound and out-bound international programs. 
  • Leads the development and dissemination of marketing materials related to international education to bring awareness and interest in international opportunities. 
  • Directs student candidate selection for university out-bound programs. Researches, plans and prepares all travel arrangements, pre-departure orientation for out-bound programs. 
  • Additionally, leads the development of awareness and outreach programs for international education through on-campus events and domestic/international student mentorships. 
  • Leads outbound program implementation and logistics, and may serve as program administrator on-site abroad as needed. 
  • Serves as Designated School Official/Alternate Responsible Officer (DSO/ARO) for the university, and supports all international degree-seeking students and exchange students with resources and information specific to their needs.
  • Develops plans for program cost reduction and external program funding. Implements established department policies and procedures, and develops new ones as needed, in order to provide excellent customer service standards in accordance with the mission and purpose of the University.

  • Bachelor degree in Business, International Relations, or related field or equivalent experience required.

  • Valid passport required.


  • Minimum of 2 years of experience performing complex administrative duties, preferably including some program development work in international education in Education Abroad and international student support.
  • Knowledge of state, federal and local laws/regulations relating to international travel requirements such as visas, passports and disaster management/recovery/assistance protocols and other applicable regulatory standards preferred
  • International student supervision or study abroad experience preferred. 
  • Experience researching and interpreting complex rules and regulations preferred.
  • Proficient command of grammar, punctuation, spelling, and correct usage of the English language.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of office systems, practices, and administration.
  • Proficient second language skills, especially in Spanish or Korean, are preferred.
  • Proficient skills and experience in Microsoft Office computer software systems that includes word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
  • Evidence of principles and practices of classifying, indexing, processing, retrieving, and controlling a large volume of records.
  • Evidence of record keeping, account maintenance, and purchasing practices and procedures.
