We are currently seeking a Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis for our Administration Office in Irvine, California. This is an outstanding opportunity for a professional individual to join a growing organization.

Reporting to the VP of Finance and ACC CFO, this individual is to support the finance directors who are the primary contact for ACC and WCU as well as some selected company-level activities including support departments such as IT and the Innovation Lab. 

  • Activities include budgeting, forecasting and actuals analysis in terms of revenue, expense, profit and investment projects (related including campus additions, programs additions and other initiatives) leveraging Information from the past, present and expected future operations.
  • Key driver for forecasting of monthly balance sheet and cash flow statements, long with the P&L forecasts as a package.
  • Tasks include preparation of short and long-term forecasts of financial performance by working with internal partners such as Accounting and external parties such as our tax accounts and bankers, and creation of financial models to help investment and operational decision making.
  • This individual is to manage according to established policies, procedures and regulations. 
  • Develop and analyze financial budgets and forecasts in the areas of revenue, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected future operations.  Create financial models and analyses.  Lead budgeting and forecasting for capital expenditures for the organization and coordinate business cases and requests
  • Prepare balance sheet and cashflow forecasts of financial performance for use with internal management and external parties including our bankers and tax accountants
  • Ensure finances are managed according to University policies and procedures, legislation, generally accepted accounting principles and Department of Education regulations. Manage financial systems and maintains full and accurate records.  Respond to auditors’ findings concerning finances and operations and oversees required action to address any deficiencies.
  • Review, analyze and compare monthly and quarterly balance sheet and cashflow financial results against budget and forecast and other internal benchmarks.
  • Prepare, analyze and maintain cost data as required for regulatory reporting and for new program submissions on an ongoing basis and as requested.  Performs statistical, cost and financial analysis of data reported in the various financial systems.  
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, institute and maintain other planning and control procedures (including the planning system), and analyze and report variances
  • Prepare and distribute applicable reporting packages and statements for all applicable departments
  • Work closely with senior management staff, attend meetings, provide reports and/or information as needed.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, cost accounting, finance business administration or related field required.
  • Master’s degree in accounting, cost accounting, finance business administration or related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience, including some management experience and experience leading a team, project, program, or function required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to think, reason, and make sound judgments on how responsibilities are completed in compliance with applicable standards and guidelines.

  • Ability to exercise the utmost confidentiality in every aspect.

  • Ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff.
